Andrew Kilgore - “My time working at the Sunrise Project in Austin in 1970 was another transformative experience. I worked closely with children who were blind and mentally challenged, like Jerry, a beautiful child who was completely blind and had no perception of language. Our communication was solely through touch, and I spent a significant amount of time with him, teaching him to navigate his world. This period, along with my Peace Corps experience, deeply influenced my view of the world and the people in it.”
